A lovely portrait session in the shop Wool Bath | Portrait Photography in Bath Somerset

Portrait Photo Session Bath

When Laura asked me to photograph her beautiful wool shop in bath I was so excited as I’d never photographed a shop before, being a family photographer.

I spent the morning with her and her team, quietly snapping away while they worked, chatted and drank tea and handled beautiful wool! The aim was to get interior photographs of her shop, portraits of her and her staff and some documentary images of the team working and interacting together in the shop.

The wool really is something to behold. There are rows upon rows of brightly coloured wool, chunky wool, fine wool, pastel wool, creams and whites and grey wool. Exquisitely displayed, like a wool art gallery! As someone who hasn’t knitted much in the past, I certainly left this photoshoot wanting to buy every ball of yarn and take up knitting in time for Christmas!

Like all of my family photo shoots, this portrait photo session was very relaxed and we managed to captured some wonderful documentary moments, real, unposed and joyful. I especially liked the end of the photo session when it was just Laura and her mum in the shop together alone, having fun while they worked.

The final photographs, hopefully, display the passion and enthusiasm that Laura and her team have for this vibrant, joy-filled, small independent but vitally important shop in Bath. They have a loyal customer base and I hope they are able to continue keeping this shop going during this difficult time we find ourselves in. It deserves to keep going and I wish them all the best. It really is the most beautiful wool I have ever seen and your one stop shop for all your yarn needs.
